Led by a surge of technology caused by the Phoenicians, Egyptians, and others, the Greco-Roman era brought about a new wave of fangling. The masses were again left in the dust by the "techno freaks". They paraded about in their togas, drunk on their posh wines. Their social planning schemes paved the way for future "techno freaks" who would blanket the landscape with needless technology.
The Huns tried to stop them, but even they had succumbed to the call of progress. Instead of regressing to the primitive "good old days" of yore, the Huns integrated and began a slow metamorphosis into the pseudo-sophistication that spawned yet more technology. Things just weren't the way they used to be.
